I am concerned about costs for items like the Peace Bridge that went through council when the mayor at the time owned land on the south side. The existing bridge to the west could have been modified at a cheaper price.
Peace Bridge was a poor decision overall. There was a lack of disclosure of the details of the bridge, its location does not seem to make much sense, etc. My research team has similar concerns in respect to other nearby projects which also have very poor optics and details. Please visit my website news releases for additional details.
What is your opinion for the future construction of a second similar pedestrian bridge?
With regards to the second bridge, I did not think it was necessary as there was already was a wooden bridge in place that extended half way to the island. I strongly question our city's decision to spend scarce infrastructure dollars on such projects.
